Active, Older Adults

Active, older adults are welcome to participate in any of our fitness and aquatics classes. For guidance about what classes are best for you, please contact Diana Vita, our Group Wellness Director or Vickie Tsakmakis, our Aquatics Director.

We offer several classes specifically for adults ages 62 older.

Open Swim (see pool schedule)

Aqua Flex  (free to members but must register)

Enhance Fitness – a special  16 week program designed to help older adults at all fitness levels to be more active, energized and empowered.

Classes at the Wainwright Yoga Center including  Limbercize, Senior Spirit and Zumba Toning. (free to members)  The Wainwright House is located at 260 Stuyvesant Avenue, Rye. Wainwright House Directions.

Getting Together – Adult Activities
Join us for our weekly Crafty Crew, Mah Jongg, Canasta, a monthly book club and other activities!  For details, click here, or contact Penny Cozza.

Fitness at the Osborn

101 Theall Road, Rye

Rye YMCA members 65+ may attend the following Active Older Adult programs at the Osborn:

  • Stretch Class
  • Gentle Chair Yoga
  • Water Exercise Class
  • Balance Class

Members wishing to participate at the Osborn must first call the Rye YMCA Fitness Director at 967-6363, ext 206 at the beginning of each calendar year. Limit 45.
