Rye YMCA Gymnasts Show Team Spirit and Strength at State Championships

The YMCA CT State Gymnastics Championships took place on March 22 and 23 at the Westport Weston Family YMCA Gymnastics Center, bringing together talented young gymnasts for a weekend of competition, camaraderie, and community.

The Rye YMCA gymnastics team made a strong impression, led by several all-around top finishers. Level 2 gymnast Alice Schott placed 4th all-around, followed by Level 3 gymnast Elan Deen, who earned 6th all-around, and Xcel Silver gymnast Mia Mormile, who finished 7th all- around.

In addition to these overall achievements, Rye Y gymnasts also stood out in individual events. Zadie Garcia (Level 3) placed 2nd on Beam, and Ferra Dailey Lasala (Level 3) earned 2nd on Floor.

The Rye YMCA is proud of all its athletes who competed with determination and represented their team with pride. Participating in events like the Connecticut State Championships reflect the YMCA’s commitment to youth development, encouraging young people to grow in confidence, strength, and teamwork.
