NY SWIMS Initiative

The Rye Y is one of the participating YMCAs across New York State offering free swim lessons to help more children gain lifesaving water safety skills, thanks to funding from the New York State Department of Health through Governor Kathy Hochul's NY SWIMS Initiative. This program is designed to expand access for children who may otherwise face barriers to participation. 

The Rye Y's lessons will be coming in 2027. We will work with local families and community partners to reach those who can benefit most from this opportunity.
