Rye, NY — The Rye Y WaveRyeders capped an outstanding season with an Overall Team Championship at the Westchester–Fairfield Swim League Championships, followed by a strong showing at the YMCA New York State Championships, March 20-22, on Long Island. Competing against top teams from across the state, the WaveRyeders placed 8th overall, with the girls finishing 8th and the boys 7th.

At the League Championships, Rye Y swimmers delivered exceptional performances across age groups. Individual winners included Nora Kelly, Devin Zheng, and Antonio Petgrave (8 & Under); Amelia Harrington, Catherine Martin, and Jason Lin (10 & Under); Kimberly Pan, Chiara Sardinas, Annachiara Jones, and Babette Lucaroni (12 & Under); Ela Karakaya, Avery Balestra, and Ollie Ashlock (14 & Under); and Sigal Cutler and Gianmarco Miraglia (18 & Under).

The team also recognized its graduating seniors—Alex Pinnock, Gianmarco Miraglia, Ella Godden, and Kiera Palmer—for their leadership and lasting contributions to the program.

“These swimmers represent the heart of what the YMCA stands for—hard work, perseverance, and supporting one another as a team,” said Head Coach Kate Tiedemann. Their success in the pool reflects the friendships, confidence, and sense of belonging they’ve built together.”
