Ever since I left college, I’ve worked in the development field. In 2009, I was looking for part-time work after being home for a year with my baby daughter. I knew the former H.R. director at the Rye Y and she called me about an opening. She had loved working here, and said how wonderful it was. I had been in Catholic education for so long and I liked the idea of continuing to give back in a way that benefitted children.
What makes my job fulfilling is seeing all the good we do. You read heartbreaking stories about people who receive financial aid from the Y and they can come here and have a healthy outlet. Our Y community, the way we all work together… there’s such camaraderie because we’re all working for the same cause.
