[Rye, NY –February 25, 2012] The Rye YMCA is pleased to announce the appointment of Hillary Southard to the position of Camp, Teen & Family Director. Hillary will oversee Discovery Camp in the summer and teen and family programs year-round. “Hillary’s leadership experience, knowledge and enthusiasm are a great fit for our team,” said Scott Umbel, Rye Y Senior Program Director. “We are eager to learn from her experiences in outdoor education and how they may be integrated into our current camp curriculum.”
Hillary comes to the Rye Y with nearly a decade of YMCA experience in summer camp, family programming, hospitality and aquatics. She served as the Retreat and Camp Director for Camp Greenkill in Huguenot, NY for 8 years and most recently as the Aquatics Director of the White Plains YMCA. Hillary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA.
