Rye Y Wave Ryeders Start off the New Year with a Splash

[Rye, January 31, 2018] The Rye Y Wave Ryeders Swim Team battled to a victory at the White Plains YWCA on Sunday, January 21 over the formidable Middies Swim Team. The depth of the Wave Ryders, with age groups ranging from 6 through 18, allowed the team to take home their first road victory against the Middies. With the first meet of 2018 in the books, the Wave Ryeders look forward to a dual meet vs. Tarrytown Y and New Rochelle Y followed by a Yonkers Condors at the Rye YMCA in February. The team is hoping to continue their winning streak at the Westchester Fairfield County Swim League Championships before heading off to Buffalo to compete in the YMCA New York State Swimming Championships in March.

The goal of the Wave Ryeders program is to promote fun, camaraderie, new friendships, new skills, physical fitness and positive values that extend beyond the swimming environment. The Rye YMCA offers both a Spring and Fall swim team and a pre-team for swimmers not yet ready for competition.
