On Sunday, October 1, the Rye Y held its 6th annual LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Day at the Wainwright House in Rye. Alumni, family and friends of the Y’s program enjoyed reuniting with old friends and building relationships with new friends in an afternoon of workshops, lunch and fun.
Dr. Randy Stevens, Director of Radiation Oncology at White Plains Hospital, was our guest speaker and was honored for her long standing partnership and advocacy for the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program. Additionally, Paula Preis, volunteer and Survivor Advocate for the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program was honored for her time, dedication and hard work in continuing to build this program. Workshops throughout the day focused on nutrition, creativity, and physical activity.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a free 12-week program designed for adult cancer survivors, funded entirely with donor contributions.
