Rye Y Celebrates Staff Excellence

The Rye YMCA honored three of its staff members for their hard work, innovation and commitment to excellence during a recent celebration at Wainwright House. Executive Director Gregg Howells presented each awardee with a plaque and described their contributions to the Y’s member-centric, cause-driven work.

The winners were:

Lisa Tidball: Spirt, Mind & Body Award
The Spirit, Mind and Body Award to given to an employee who embodies the positive values and character of the YMCA in everything he or she does. As Director of Communications, Lisa has her finger on the pulse of the Y, helping staff in multiple departments with publicity, messaging, and outreach.  Lisa is a co-founder of the Rye Y’s Story Project.

Richard Tortorici, Quality Keepers Award
The Quality Keeper is a person who exemplifies the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Part of the Member Services team, Rich is a friendly, helpful presence at the front desk, greeting members and offering exceptional service to everyone who walks through the Y’s doors.

Tatum Nussbaum: Excellence in Innovation Award
The Excellence in Innovation Award is given annually to a Y employee or team that has submitted or developed the most innovative process, policy or program during the previous year. Tatum, who is the Assistant Director of Sports and Recreation, was recognized for researching, developing and running Pickleball nights for adults. Pickleball is a popular, fast-growing paddle sport enjoyed by all ages.
