The Rye YMCA honored three of its staff members for their hard work, innovation and commitment to excellence during a recent celebration at TD Bank. Executive Director Gregg Howells presented each awardee with a plaque and described their contributions to the Y’s member-centric, cause-driven work.
The winners were:
Kathy Lynam: Excellence in Innovation Award
The Excellence in Innovation Award is given annually to a Y employee or team that has submitted or developed the most innovative process, policy or program during the previous year. Kathy, who is the Senior Program Director for Family, Camp and Childcare, was recognized for developing and implementing the Rye Y’s new Pre-School Enrichment Program, which offers a valuable service to our community. During her 15 years at the Rye Y, Kathy has shown creativity, commitment, and leadership in everything she tackles.
Andrea Robinson: Spirit, Mind & Body Award
The Spirit, Mind and Body Award to given to an employee who embodies the positive values and character of the YMCA in everything he or she does. As the Y’s Human Resources Director, Andrea juggles the paperwork and professional needs of hundreds of employees and volunteers, all with good humor and a passion for the Y’s mission. Whether it’s leading a Zumba class, organizing an ice cream social, or promoting staff mentorships, Andrea is a team player who always has the best interests of the Y and its employees in mind.
Liliana Gudino: Quality Keepers Award
The Quality Keeper is a person who exemplifies the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Since 2014, when she started as a summer camp counselor, Liliana has been promoted several times, moving up as a valued member of the Y’s camp and child care team. She is a true professional who makes it a priority to help everyone. In June 2019, Liliana became the Rye Y’s new Child Care Director.
“The Rye Y is fortunate to have an exceptional staff,” remarked Howells. “They work hard every day to support our members and strengthen the communities we serve. And they make a measurable, positive impact in a myriad of ways. It’s a pleasure to recognize their accomplishments and celebrate their commitment.”
Thank you to TD Bank for generously hosting this event.
