Golf Outing Raises Funds for Rye Y Financial Assistance Programs

Warming Up[October 9, 2013] Rain and the threat of a tornado did not prevent golfers from hitting the links at the annual Christopher D. Mello Golf fundraiser on October 7. Most golfers were able to complete 16 holes before the rain became too heavy to play.

“Over the last 18 years, our golf fundraiser has netted over 1 million dollars for the Rye Y’s Annual Campaign,” said Gregg Howells, Rye Y Executive Director. “Thanks to the generosity of our players and sponsors, we are able to welcome all members of our community even when they are experiencing financial hardship.”

This year, the Rye Y has already awarded $590,000 in financial assistance to families, adults and youth. To learn more about the Y’s charitable focus and Annual Campaign, visit https://www.ryeymca.org/giving/
