The Strong Kids Campaign is the YMCA’s annual appeal to raise funds which underwrite 
youth and family programs as well as provide financial aid.
Over the last two years, the Y’s financial assistance awards have doubled, from $140,000 in 2008 to a projected $300,000 in 2010. To meet this continuing increase in requests for financial assistance, the Y has moved up its 2010 Strong Kids Campaign from November to April. The Y’s board of directors is also trying a more personal approach by reaching out to friends and neighbors to explain the need and urgency behind this year’s fundraising goal of $225,000. Letters and pledge cards will be sent throughout the year, and with an eye to the future, the Y’s Auxiliary Board is already planning for a 2011 March Madness Event.
Your gift to the Rye Y’s Strong Kids Campaign allows our doors to remain open and accessible to all regardless of financial circumstances. In these economic times, your annual gift is more important than ever to help sustain financial aid, subsidize programs, and support vital community outreach services that only the Y can provide.
Program and membership fees do not cover the requests for help the Rye YMCA receives each year. Please give today to the Strong Kids Campaign. It’s a simple way to help strengthen the building blocks of our community: youth, family, and good health for all.
